black holes: what are they?
black holes are the end point of stars 10 to 15 times more massive then the sun. if a star the big undergoes a supernova explosion it may leave a fairly big burned-out stellar remnant will collapse on its self. with no outward forces to oppose gravity, the remnant with cllapse on its self. the star evaentally collapses to the point of zero volume and infinite
density. creating what is known as singularity around this region the gravity pull is so much that not even light could excape, this is what a black hole is
